Canadian Immigration Lawyer for Parental and Grandparental Sponsorships
Every year, Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents may attempt to sponsor their parents and grandparents. There is always more demand than supply and the government has adopted various mechanisms over the years from first-in-line at the processing center, to a lottery to race to apply by entering a profile via computer.
Canada Visa Agency will expertly assist and avoid mistakes, such as the canceling of applications due to duplications or failure to submit an expression of interest properly.
It is important that each case is properly vetted. Applicants should be able to pass a medical or be able to defend against an allegation that they will constitute ‘excessive demand on health or social services.’ Also, it is critical that the sponsor have sufficient Canadian-source income and if not, that they have a co-sponsor so the combined income meets the requirements. Three years of income is required and the threshold is 30% more than the Low Income Cut Off figures (though there was an exception for the year 2020 due to COVID).
